App Review Guidelines

We review all apps that use MIKROS in an effort to determine whether they are reliable, safe, categorized as a game (or is mostly gamified), and are free of objectionable content. As you plan and prepare for advanced insights from MIKROS, use our guidelines and resources to help your approval go as smoothly as possible.

  • Reliable: MIKROS is community based, meaning that all users’ data contributions make the platform stronger. The more tracked data fed into MIKROS, the more powerful the technology becomes. This leads to more conclusions about user behaviors and interests. More trends and conclusions about the overall mobile gaming industry. And even more actionable tips and hints on how to improve your product to better ensure your success. For these reasons, we want to ensure that only qualified apps and data are influencing our technology’s decisions and direction. This is, in part, how we keep our promise to provide the best value to everyone who uses MIKROS service.
  • Relevant Content: MIKROS is tailored specifically for mobile games. While in the future this may change, today we are laser focused on helping game developers gain a deeper understanding and connection with their users. If your product is not deemed a mobile game, or lacks a significant amount of gamification, your product will not be approved.
  • No Offensive Content: To ensure that MIKROS remains a safe and respectful platform for all, we have created standards defining and prohibiting content that is harmful or inappropriate.
Restricted Content Description
Sexual Content and Profinanity We don't allow apps that contain or promote sexual content or profanity, including pornography, or any content or services intended to be sexually gratifying.

Content that contains nudity may be allowed if the primary purpose is educational, documentary, scientific or artistic, and is not gratuitous.
Violence We don't allow apps that promote violence, or incite hatred against individuals or groups based on race or ethnic origin, religion, disability, age, nationality, veteran status, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, or any other characteristic tthat is associated with systemtic discrimination or maginalization.

Review Status

Once you have submitted your app for review, you will be able to check its status on the MIKROS dashboard. Our app review process is manual and we look over all added app details carefully. It isn't uncommon for a review to take a few days.

After your app is reviewed, you will receive an email about your app approval or rejection. If rejected, you will need to modify your app details and resubmit. Specific information about what needs to be changed or improved will be provided to you.

Avoiding Common App Rejections

We have highlighted some of the most common issues that cause apps to get rejected to help you better prepare your apps before submitting them for review. Below are additional considerations.

Placeholder Details and Content

Finalize all text in your app before sending it in for review. The information you provide is used by the technology to categorize and match you with other similar products. This allows MIKROS to do comparative analysis and provide you the best value. It is OK and expected that your app is not completed or perhaps not even started, we just need to know that you are planning a legitimate application that falls within our acceptance criteria.

Screenshots and video are all optional. However, once your app is published to the Google and/or Apple app stores, for example, it is encouraged that you update your app details to include any missing information because through the MIKROS ecosystem your product will be promoted and marketed for free! The MIKROS ecosystem is enormous and we want to celebrate your product release and assist with letting all MIKROS fans know that your game is out in the wild and ready to be played by millions!

Inaccurate Screenshots

Provided screenshots and/or video should accurately communicate your app's value and functionality. Use text and overlay images to highlight your app's user experience, not obscure it. This helps users understand your app and what they are expected to play.

Incomplete Information

Enter all of the details needed to review your app. Do not use any placeholder information. You are allowed to provide minimal details to get started, but remember to fill out this information in greater detail later. As a contributor to the MIKROS ecosystem, these details are used in your favor to correctly categorize your game and even promote your product once published. Keep in mind that any additional edits to your app, whether previously approved or not, will force another review.

Misleading Users

Your app must perform as advertised and should not give users the impression the app is something it is not. If your app appears to promise certain features and functionality, it needs to deliver.
